Oil Nut Bay

Location: British Virgin Islands

Gemini Water designed, fabricated, installed, and commissioned Phase 1 of a 480,000 US gallon per day (GPD) reverse osmosis water treatment plant at Oil Nut Bay in the British Virgin Islands.

The project provides a scalable desalination system designed to support the full 480,000 GPD capacity, with Phase 1 delivering the first two 120,000 GPD RO trains. Each train incorporates first- and second-pass reverse osmosis, energy recovery, membrane cleaning and flushing systems.

The treatment process includes seawater intake pumping, media and cartridge filtration, scale inhibitor dosing, membrane separation, and post-treatment. Post-treatment includes calcium carbonate contactors to improve hardness and alkalinity, along with chemical dosing for corrosion control, pH adjustment, and disinfection.

The system was designed to deliver high-quality finished water directly to storage while providing a flexible platform for future expansion.
