Lovango

Gemini Water designed, supplied, installed, and commissioned a scalable desalination system for the Lovango Resort on Lovango Cay, St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands.

The system was designed for phased expansion from an initial capacity of 10,000 US gallons per day (GPD) to 50,000 GPD. Phase 1 established the core infrastructure, including seawater supply, controls, low-pressure piping, a 50,000 GPD RO skid, membrane feed pump, and regulatory compliance instrumentation.

The RO system was housed in a modified 20-foot shipping container, with the media filtration system installed adjacent to the container. Subsequent phases expanded pretreatment and post-treatment capacity and incorporated an isobaric energy recovery system to reduce energy consumption. The final phase increased production to 50,000 GPD through additional membrane elements and completion of the media filtration and calcite post-treatment systems.
